About Us

Little Tinkers preschool opened its doors in 2003 with the dream to make a difference in each child’s life! We are a family owned business dedicated to the nurturing care and balanced approach to learning for our children. Our standards are set very high for our educators which becomes evident as each parent walks through our doors. We want each child and parent to feel safe, secure, and like they are a part of our extended family.

Our staff are certified in the latest safety, first aid, and safeguarding training. We have regular training for each educator to keep them up to date with the latest educational techniques working in partnership with the local authority and Ofsted guidelines.

Our Philosophy

Little Tinkers preschool is dedicated and committed to our children by providing exceptional education and quality child care. It is our philosophy to focus on the needs of the individual child by providing a stimulating atmosphere for learning along with a secure environment. It is our belief that a childcare setting should be an extension of each child’s family. At Little Tinkers preschool we use a key person approach. A key person is a named member of staff with responsibilities for a small group of children who helps those children feel safe and cared for. The role is an important one and an approach set out in the EYFS, it involves the key person in responding sensitively to children’s feelings and behaviours and meeting emotional needs by giving reassurance, such as when they are new to the setting and supporting the child’s well-being. That person is a familiar figure who is accessible and available as a point of contact for parents and builds relationships with the child and parents or carers. Each child has a named keyperson and parents are encouraged to work together to provide the love and support needed as your child reaches developmental milestones and his/her own personal achievements! At Little Tinkers we are passionate about education and providing our children with the tools to be successful in life.
